The freedom to vote is at the heart of our democracy. All Voting is Local exists to expose and dismantle threats to voter freedom. Even though major elections happen only every two to four years, state and local officials consider and make decisions surrounding our ability to vote year-round. Support Black-Owned Businesses: 450+ Places to Start Online

While the economic challenges of the last few years have tested organizations of all stripes, Black-owned businesses closed their doors at twice the rate of other businesses during the pandemic. Studies show that less access to the financial system and lack of family wealth to draw from—both key avenues of financial security during economic slowdowns—are partly to blame.

Consumer spending habits are another major challenge for Black-owned businesses, which can struggle to scale up because of a misperception that their target market is a narrow demographic. Minority-owned businesses, however, are often marketing to broader audiences who never consider them. In order to contribute to the advancement of Black-owned enterprises in the United States, UK, Ireland, and the Netherlands, I have assembled an extensive roster of more than 450 Black-owned businesses spanning various sectors. National Security Leaders for America (NSL4A)

We are a 501(c)(4) bipartisan organization made up of individuals who served in a variety of senior leadership positions that include all six military branches, elected federal and state offices, and various government departments and agencies. We dedicate ourselves to supporting individuals of the highest integrity willing to serve in positions of government trust and to promoting public education about our democracy and the institutions upon which it depends.

NSL4A evolved from National Security Leaders for Biden (NSL4B), which stood up during the 2020 elections to enable its members to advocate for presidential nominee Joe Biden. This effort initially focused on its members’ providing their individual voices through op-eds in the summer of 2020. In September 2020, NSL4B leveraged the collective voice of 489 signatories in a letter of public support for Joe Biden, which organically grew to 780 public members prior to election day.

During the 2022 Midterm elections, NSL4A endorsed 31 candidates in both federal and state level elections. These candidates ran against opponents who espoused anti-democracy positions such as voter suppression and election denialism. Our efforts supported the reelection of two state Governors, three U.S. Representatives, and four U.S. Senators, along with the election of two new state Governors, one new U.S. Representative, and one new U.S. Senator.

Established in 1977, the National Women's Studies Association has as one of its primary objectives promoting and supporting the production and dissemination of knowledge about women and gender through teaching, learning, research and service in academic and other settings. Run for Something

Run for Something will recruit and support young, diverse progressives to run for down-ballot races in order to build sustainable power for Democrats in all 50 states. We help people who are pro-choice, pro-universal health care, pro-LGBTQ equality, pro-criminal justice reform; pro-working families and organized labor, pro-voting rights, pro-campaign finance reform, who focus on inequality, fair wages, and job creation; who acknowledge that climate change is real, man-made, and our responsibility to fight; and who will fight to reduce gun violence in their community. The 65 Project

The 65 Project is a bi-partisan effort to protect democracy and preserve the rule of law by deterring future attacks on our electoral system. We are holding accountable Big Lie Lawyers who bring fraudulent and malicious lawsuits to overturn legitimate election results, and working with bar associations to revitalize the disciplinary process so that lawyers, including public officials, who subvert democracy will be punished.

Students for Voting Justice

Students for Voting Justice (SVJ) is a paid internship program for college students that was created in 2020 to engage young people in the effort to get out the vote and to train them to be the leaders of tomorrow. SVJ’s voter outreach is centered on African-American voters in Georgia, North Carolina, and Virginia, and on youth 18-24 more generally. Our interns are recruited largely from Historically Black Colleges and Universities in the South and over 90% identify as people of color.

What’s next?
It’s 2023. Some people like to call that an Off Year, but we like to call it an opportunity. Meaningful change only comes about through year-round organizing, and through listening to voters even when there isn’t a major election coming up. That’s why we launched No Off Years, our plan to win in the 2023 state and local elections and start organizing ahead of 2024. That means voter registration. That means deep canvassing. That means funding year-round local organizations who know their communities best and building community among fellow volunteers.

VOTE411 is committed to ensuring voters have the information they need to successfully participate in every election. Whether it's local, state or federal, every election is important to ensuring our laws and policies reflect the values and beliefs of our communities.

Launched by the League of Women Voters Education Fund (LWVEF) in October of 2006, VOTE411.org is a "one-stop-shop" for election related information. It provides nonpartisan information to the public with both general and state-specific information on the following aspects of the election process: absentee ballot information, ballot measure information (where applicable), early voting options (where applicable), election dates, factual data on candidates in various federal, state and local races, general information on such topics as how to watch debates with a critical eye, ID requirements, polling place locations, registration deadlines, voter qualifications, voter registration forms, and voting machines.

VoteVets

Started in 2006, VoteVets PAC and VoteVets Action Fund have been the home for progressive veterans, military families, and their civilian supporters for over 15 years. It is the first organization of its kind and the largest, with over one and a half million supporters in all 50 states. VoteVets uses public issue campaigns to relentlessly lift up the voices of veterans on matters of national security, veterans’ care, and everyday issues that affect the lives of those who served, and their families.

VoteVets Action Fund is a 501c(4) organization, whose primary purpose is to advocate for issues that impact troops, veterans, and their families. VoteVets Action Fund focuses on matters including, but not limited to, foreign policy (including war-making policy), veterans’ unemployment, robust investment in care for veterans, energy security, protecting the rights of those who serve, and upholding the Constitution and democracy that every military member swore to uphold and protect.

More often than not, Veterans have a stake in the top issues of the day, and VoteVets Action Fund is committed to getting their voices heard on these issues. For that reason, we have and will continue to work with all progressive allies representing labor, immigration, civil rights and voting rights, gay and lesbian rights, environmentalists, and other progressives, when their issues coincide with the needs of troops and veterans.

Ralph Nader, Mark Breen, and about 20 progressive activists, writers and academics formed an organization called Winning America which produced a set of recommendations for Democrats titled, Crushing the GOP, 2022.
